Description

Please cheer the gracious queen of the fruit people.
Sadly she isn't alive anymore in the story I'm plotting around my little food characters.
But I "revived" her to be the queen in my chess game.

Also meet her son if you haven't already:The Prince

Currently we have to redesign a chess board and its figures.
This is my design. I'm using the characters of my Food Army series.
Sooner or later I had definetly made them. So why not using them now :D (Big Grin)

Hi from ProjectComment!
I was pretty excited to see your submission in the gallery, since I haven't seen anyone else submit an artisan craft before Giggle
Your Food Army series is very cute and creative, I think your Fruits and Moehre complement each other very well, with one being fruits with more rounded features and the other being vegetables with taller and sharper features. Moreover, your Queen and Prince piece also go very well together, both look regal due to the purple and gold colors in their accessories. Looking forward to seeing your designs for the rest of the pieces!

Vision
Star! Star! Star! Star! Star!
Your chess set so far is very well-planned and well-designed, great job!

Originality
Star! Star! Star! Star! Star!
This is a very creative, original idea for a chess set. I like how the two sets are different but not quite opposite, as the base colors of the two sides are not complementary colors, and vegetables side has a king and princess, while the fruits side has a queen and prince. This makes the set more unique and interesting to look at.

Technique
Star! Star! Star! Star! No Star
Compared to Princess Moehrchen's smile, the fruit queen's looks thin. Because of this, my impression of her is that she has a stern personality, if that's what you intended to portray then feel free to skip this suggestion; otherwise, I'd suggest thickening her smile a bit more, especially since the features on the princess are so prominent. This would also add to the cartoon-like style of your piece.

Second, the queen's crown looks asymmetrical in some areas. Specifically, the front and back parts of the crown are a bit slanted, and the bottom of the crown is also slightly slanted in the front and wavy in the back, while the upper part of the crown faces directly upwards. If you plan on making another iteration of this piece, I'd suggest either tilting the entire crown, since the queen is slightly leaning to one side, or making the crown vertical so that it sits at an angle on her head.

Other than that, your technique is excellent :)!

Again, this is a lovely set from what I've seen so far, and I really look forward to seeing the rest of this set!

Hope this helped, and keep up the awesome work!
